We spent a few hours at Hobbiton, the place where the Hobbit village was films for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. The tour lasted about 2 hours. Even though this was supposed to be a movie set, the Hobbit village was very complete. The different Hobbit Holes were made in different scales to that the actors could look large(non Hobbits), or small(Hobbits). Some of the chimneys had smoke coming out and everything was made to look as realistic as possible. At the end, we went to the Green Dragon Tavern and had hard apple cider. It was pretty good. I think I took about 200 pictures while there and even though I have not really been a fan of the movies, it was a lot of fun looking around the 'Shire'.

Our tour guide was from the US and is in New Zealand on a working visa. We have met quite a few people that are here on working visas. Many of them say they don't want to leave.
